Case Study

Boldmere St. Michaels Football Club is a football club based in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield, England. They have a rich history that dates back to 1883 are currently members of the Midland League Premier Division and play at the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground.

The club recently had new dressing rooms built on the site which is closer to the halfway line. In total the new build encompasses four new dressing rooms with shower areas, an upstairs boardroom, classroom and gym. A significant investment from the club as they look to the future.

The new build had certain lighting requirements such as cost efficiency, reliability and quality. As the new build was being designed, Ansell Lighting was suggested to Estate Manager Jon Lucas as the go-to supplier who can meet all their lighting needs and more.

Ansell’s Freska LED Downlight and Lodi LED Slim Downlight were both identified as the two luminaires that could meet the lighting needs of the club and were both installed throughout the new build.

The Non-Dimmable Freska is an economic ultra-slim circular LED downlight. The Freska is edge lit providing excellent uniform illumination and comes with a LED lifespan L70 30,000 hours. The product comes in cool white and warm white and multiple wattages which allowed the contractors to select the perfect option for installation in the new build.

The Lodi LED Slim Downlight is an economic polycarbonate circular LED downlight. The Lodi features a low-profile design with integral driver and is ideal for areas with shallow ceiling voids. The Lodi is a high-quality downlight with reliability at its core and comes with an LED lifespan of L70 25,000 hours making it a great solution for all lighting requirements.

Estate Manager Jon Lucas was incredibly pleased with the outcome of the project and massively impressed with the quality of Ansell’s luminaires. Now with a growing junior section within the Football Club the old dressing rooms will be converted into a bigger function room which the club can utilise, and Jon is keen to work with Ansell once again.
